PicEat is a social food platform for people to share their favorite places, what they eat recently and discover new spots.
Born from as team academic project, PicEat explores how a food-themed platform can be collaborative and built around community. Its goal was to serve as context for us to exercice on building a fully functional community and collaborative web app. I was personally in charge of the branding and creative direction and also was involved UI/UX Design and Front-end.
PicEat was thought to be a platform centered around the pleasure of sharing and discovering what people are eating and where. Mainly focused on a young audience, the direction was intended to be appealing even to a wider and more universal audience.
The challenge was also to build a branding that could intergrate itself well throughout the interface ; without clashing with user-content.
The final visual identity of PicEat was made around the central ideas of PicEat : being a dynamic and vibrant platform encouraging interaction and focusing attention on users and their content.
PicEat's interface was thought to be easy to onboard and to use. We base ourselves on various famous and similar platforms such as Instagram, Google Maps, corner and more.
Globally, the project was built around the Design System philosophy for easier potential expansion and modification of the platform and more efficient development of the platform.
